Early writings from Mesopotamia mention Kings asking for maidens to be brought to them "clean & smooth", hairless.

Egyptian hieroglyphics show how pharaohs' slaves were required to remove their body hair.

Also Egyptian women used sugaring to cleanse and purify their bodies, symbolising the mark of womanhood over 1000 years ago.

The ancient art form of sugaring has been modernised over the years and has more recently become an effective and popular method of hair removal.
