What Is Exfoliation?

Exfoliation is simply the removal of the dead layer of skin.

Why Is It So Important?

It takes approximately 30 days for a new cell to complete its journey from the Basal Cell Layer (inner most layer of skin where it is reproduced) to the Horny Layer (outer layer where it is shed).

As time goes by the process slows down.  The 20 –30 days of natural exfoliation in a child increases to 40-60 days in an adult.

Skin which naturally exfoliates badly is dull, less receptive, vunerable and is more easily damaged.

Because of dead cells, creams will also have more barriers to pass through making them less effective.  Hence the need for an Ulti-Mitt, see Products for details. (© 2008 Zahra)
